Third Annual Freedom Junior Golf Classic Returns to Montgomery, Honoring Rosa Parks’ Legacy Through the Game of Golf

by AAGD NEWSWIRE

Montgomery, AL — November 10, 2025 — The LEO Foundation proudly announces the Third Annual Freedom Junior Golf Classic, to be held December 6–7, 2025, at Cottonwood Golf Club in Montgomery, Alabama. This year’s tournament is a special addition to the Rosa Parks Day Celebration, honoring her enduring legacy and commitment to empowering young people.

The Freedom Junior Golf Classic invites boys and girls ages 12–18 to compete in a two-day event that goes beyond the thrill of competition. The tournament’s mission is to introduce and promote the game of golf within the community, providing junior golfers the opportunity to develop their skills, earn Junior Scoreboard rankings, and qualify for the Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship.

“This event continues to grow each year, giving our youth a platform to compete, learn, and connect with history,” said Quincy Leonard, Founder and Executive Director of the LEO Foundation. “Rosa Parks’ passion for children and education aligns perfectly with what this tournament represents—patience, perseverance, and discipline through the game of golf.”

Hosting the event in Montgomery, the birthplace of the Civil Rights Movement, provides players and families with a unique experience that combines sportsmanship, education, and historical awareness. Beyond the course, participants will have opportunities to explore the city’s rich civil rights history and understand how courage and character—values at the heart of both golf and social progress—intersect.

The Freedom Junior Golf Classic continues to embody the LEO Foundation’s mission to empower underserved youth for brighter futures through golf, education, and leadership development.
