April 29, 2020 – The Champions Tour has announced that the restart of its 2020 season will not take place until late July.  The delay of the tour which attracts golfers age 50-and older cites concerns about the coronavirus pandemic.

As of now, The Champions tour schedule has been revised to start with The Ally Challenge on July 31-Aug. 2 at Warwick Hills in Grand Blanc, Mich. Among other recent changes is the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open, which was planned to be held in Endicott, N.Y., but has now been canceled.

The Senior Players Championship, originally scheduled for July 9-12, will take the DSGO’s place on the schedule and be played Aug. 13-16 in Akron, Ohio.

The Senior Players is one of the tour’s five major championships, only two of which are scheduled to be played in this abbreviated season. The Senior PGA and U.S. Senior Open already have been canceled, and the Senior British Open was postponed, with no new date set.
