Making a statement in every aspect of your golf life is something to aspire to. Trap Golf, a newly launched brand for golfers and non-golfers alike makes this attainable. Trap Golf is on a mission to unify people from all walks of life by bringing a sophisticated urban vibe and quality design and art to the game of golf and beyond.
Professional Caddy Wayne Birch from College Park, Ga., talks with us about his experience in the new business (launched in June) and his long history of involvement with golf, studying on a full-ride golf scholarship at Southern University all the way through to his current work as one of only four Black professional caddies on the Tour.
For the clothing line, “We promote hustling for what you’re passionate about,” says the Trap Golf website. “For us, we’re passionate about people, golf, and art. Our brand is two years old and we are growing and getting better everyday.” And Birch is busy making that happen by connecting the brand with some of the music and sports industry’s leading players.
The Print-on-Demand business prints and embroiders all orders in-houseline with products for youth and adults, for activities on-and-off the green for the development of a brand that can exist in the streets and on the links. Trap Golf engages its market and helps show how golf can be just as dope as any other sport, and, that can offer a way beyond the street life.
“We exist to bridge the age and race gap in golf, by embracing what the modern golfer is today. We’re golfing sneakerheads that engage in pop culture and understand what it means to push the limits in design and fashion. We see the beauty in all people and we embrace the attitude of doing things “trappy”‘.
“Moving as a trappy person means you bring an element of swag and confidence to everything you do. Whatever drives you, whatever motivates you to be a more complete human- trap that, and do it with passion.”
