Troy Kuramarohit named Champion of APGA’s Farmers Insurance Fall Series Finale; Chase Johnson Awarded APGA Player of the Year for Second Consecutive Year

Tustin, CA (Nov. 15, 2024) – The Advocates Professional Golf Association (APGA) saw a strong finish to its 2024 Farmers Insurance Fall Series this week in California, where some of the nation’s top professional and collegiate golfers competed for the $30,000 purse. The series also featured previous tournaments at Bally’s Golf Links at Ferry Point in the Bronx, NY, and Seaview Golf Club in New Jersey.

Troy Kuramarohit claimed a victory at the finale event held at the Tustin Ranch Golf Club. Kuramarohit, from Canoga Park CA finished with an impressive -8 over two rounds. When asked how it felt to land a top spot in the finale, Kuramarohit shared, “I honestly didn’t expect it, this is my first multi-day win. So just going down the stretch I never really looked at the leaderboard.” “I honestly had no idea until I made that last putt, and then everyone was congratulating me,” he continued.

The competition was no easy feat, as Troy Taylor II and Michael Bradham both came in only two strokes back with -6, rounding out the top three. Kuramarohit, Taylor II and Bradham walked away with the Fall Series bonus, totaling $15,000. Taylor II also finished as the overall championship winner of the Farmers Insurance Fall Series.

After a record year and compelling performance on the field, Chase Johnson was named APGA Player of the Year, making this his second consecutive year receiving the honor. He has won multiple tournaments this year and was named the Cisco Cup Series and Mastercard APGA Player Achievement award winner.

APGA Youth Clinic

Ahead of the tournament, the APGA engaged 50+ youth from local organizations with a golf clinic facilitated by Aaron Grimes and Andrew Fernandes at the historic Chester Washington Golf Course.

The clinic is part of the organization’s mission to inspire the next generation of professional golfers. Additionally, to empower APGA players on and off the course, Farmers Insurance hosted a day dedicated to professional development sessions designed to equip players with business and brand management skills before kicking off the practice rounds.
