APGA Tour Standout Willie Mack III Completes Stellar Week at BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation on Korn Ferry Tour
Willie Mack III, a 32-year-old professional golfer from Grand Blanc/Flint, Michigan, made the cut and shot a sizzling third-round 66 this week in a breakthrough performance at the Korn Ferry Tour’s BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation in Greer, South Carolina.
Playing his second Korn Ferry Tour event of the year as a sponsor exemption, Mack made the cut with rounds of 67 and 70 heading into the weekend. On Saturday, he fired a 5-under 66, to move into a Top 40 position among the post-cut field of 76 top-tier pros competing for opportunities on the PGA TOUR. Only seven players had better scores than Mack in Saturday’s round.

“I’ve been hitting the ball well,” Mack said about his previous 2021 efforts in two PGA TOUR events and one Korn Ferry tournament. “I just had some bad putting weeks. I got fitted for a new putter and it feels good. This week, it came down to making some putts. It definitely gives me some confidence going into the Rocket Mortgage Classic and the John Deere.”
Mack will continue to practice near his residence in Orlando as he prepares for the Rocket Mortgage Classic July 1-4 at Detroit Golf Club near his hometown, and the John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run July 8-11 in Silvis, Illinois.
He will then continue his season on the APGA Tour, which is playing its ninth tournament of the year at TPC Deere Run July 18-20. Mack is in fifth place in the Lexus Cup Points Standings, the season-long bonus pool competition of the APGA Tour, which has become a force driving greater diversity in the sport of golf.
