“Traveling Golfer”
Today three words come to mind as I write about some golf courses I have played in the past. The three words are different, gem, unique.
DIFFERENT:
Clax Branch Golf Course, located in Loretta, TN.
Number 10 hole is a 370 yard par 5 and number 11 is a 350 yard par 5. At that short distance it is easy to make more than par on each hole.
GEM:
BEAR TRACE AT ROSS CREEK LANDING in Clifton, TN.
The fifth and newest course on the Bear Trace. It is a Jack Nicklaus championship course with a rating of 74.7/137, and 7131 yards from the back tees. This is a beautiful course that makes you want to play your best golf. The signature hole is #10, a par four with water on both sides of the landing area. The green is on a peninsula, which requires an accurate second shot. A must play to appreciate. www.rosscreeklandinggolfclub.com
For more information about these courses and other fine courses on the Bear Trace in TN read the article Tennessee Golf Trail in the Spring 2009 issue of African American Golfer’s Digest.
UNIQUE:
MEADOWS FARMS GOLF COURSE in Fredericksburg, VA.
Looking for a unique golfing experience play Meadows Farms Golf Course. What is unique about this course? # 12 is a par 6, 841 yards from the blue tees. #8 on the waterfall nine is a baseball hole. From the tee box, the green looks like a baseball infield with a home run wall in the background.

I am now on my way to Los Cabos, Mexico and Bethel, Maine; I will blog about those courses next month.
Talk to you again, soon.
