The Advocates Professional Golf Association (APGA) Tour returns to one of America’s most prestigious golf venues this week as an elite field of professional golfers competes in the 2026 Mastercard Tour Championship at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, New Jersey.
The tournament is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25 through Thursday, August 27, with competition taking place on Baltusrol’s famed Lower Course. It marks only the second time the APGA Tour has competed at Baltusrol and the first visit since 2022.
The 36-hole championship is the 10th tournament on the APGA Tour’s 2026 schedule and will feature a 54-player field that includes every tournament winner from the current season, along with some of the APGA Tour’s most accomplished players.
At stake is a $100,000 purse, with the 2026 Mastercard Tour Championship winner receiving $32,000 and 1,000 points toward both the APGA Tour’s Jeff Dailey standings and Cisco Cup Series standings. The prize and point totals represent the largest available at any APGA Tour tournament during the 2026 season.
Star-Studded Field
Leading the field is Marcus Byrd, the APGA Tour’s 2025 Jeff Dailey APGA Tour Player of the Year and Cisco Cup champion. Byrd enters the championship with 11 APGA Tour victories and three wins during the 2026 season. He finished runner-up at last year’s Mastercard Tour Championship and will be looking to take the final step this year.
Willie Mack III, another three-time winner in 2026, also enters the championship as one of the tournament favorites. Mack is the APGA Tour’s winningest active player, with 20 APGA Tour titles, making his presence a major storyline as the season progresses.
The field also includes Xavier Bighaus, Andrew Fernandes and Willy Pumarol, all winners on the APGA Tour this season.
Defending champion Jonathan Yoshihiro returns to Baltusrol seeking to repeat his breakthrough performance. Yoshihiro captured his first APGA Tour title at the 2025 Mastercard Tour Championship as a tour rookie, establishing himself as one of the rising players on the circuit.
Another player drawing attention is Manav Shah, who competed earlier this year in the 2026 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club. His experience on one of golf’s biggest stages adds another compelling element to an already accomplished championship field.
