The presentation of the annual golf fundraiser for the East Palo Alto / Las Vegas T-Ball League has been a welcomed event for the local community, bringing lots of good cheer and vital funding to the 28-year old organization that has been teaching area youth about the fundamentals of baseball. The league promotes sportsmanship and teamwork; however, unlike many other leagues we place more emphasis on education and community pride than on the sport.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, the EPA/T-Ball league had to cancel its Annual Golf Classic this year. To supplement the loss of donations Coach Gene Tate has organized a silent auction in its stead, he says, “We are hoping to use this Semi-Annual Auction to raise funds that will help us continue working with our youth; in their efforts to not only become better athletes but ultimately better people. We do this by not only providing them with baseball skills and equipment, but also hosting different workshops and educational/career based field trips.”
All donations will benefit the EAST PALO ALTO TEE BALL/ PITCHING MACHINE. The auction will end on September 13, 2020 at 6:00 pm PST

Providing exceptional experiences for his organization, Coach Tate, in 2017, escorted over a dozen youth of his championship-winning Las Vegas T-Ball/Pitching Machine on an unforgettable excursion to Cuba. There, the group had an experience of a lifetime, as they engaged in friendly competition and one-on-one interaction with the Cuban baseball players (ages 14-16) and their families.
Items and memorabilia available in the silent auction include autographed clothing, photos and collages, some by the late NBA great Kobe Bryant, baseball legends Jackie Robinson, Willie Mays and Hank Aaron.
