With back to back rounds of 65 Joseph Bramlett claimed victory at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship, September 2-5, 2021 in Newbert, Indiana. With the win Bramlett will earn full exempt status for the 2021-22 PGA Tour season.
On the final day, Bramlett, at Victoria National Golf Club, was one shot off the pace of Trey Mullinax, who pulled away from the field with a string of five birdies (Nos. 12-16) on the homeward nine en route to a 20-under par score and a four-shot win.
Bramlett admitted, “It’s a huge deal, man….Every week you’re playing for life-changing opportunities.” The Stanford University grad earned his Tour card in 2010 at Qualifying School and became one of two PGA Tour golfers of African American descent on the 2011 PGA Tour, alongside Tiger Woods.
“Yeah, it took me a long time to get my card back in 2019 and it was one of the biggest days of my life. So I’m just so excited and congratulatory to everybody who got their first card today.
“It’s a really, really big deal.”
