LOS ANGELES, California (October 8, 2021) – Willie Mack III is among three APGA Tour standouts who have advanced to the Second Stage of the Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying Tournament following completion of First Stage competition last week.

Mack, the Flint, Michigan, native who won the APGA Tour Lexus Cup Player of the Year honors and made the cut in two PGA TOUR events this summer, continues his quest for the next level of competition on Oct. 12-15 at Southern Hills Plantation in Brooksville, Florida.  Longtime PGA of America pro and APGA Tour stalwart Wyatt Worthington of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, will head to the University of New Mexico Championship Course in Albuquerque for the Second Stage on Oct. 19-22.

Also headed to Albuquerque is APGA Tour regular Nyasha Mauchaza of Saint Lucie, Florida, by way of Zimbabwe, who had two Korn Ferry Tour starts in 2016.  Patrick Newcomb of Jacksonville, Florida, an APGA Tour Lexus Cup Point Standings contender all season long, is exempted into the Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying Final Stage based on his recent accomplishments on PGA TOUR Latinoamerica.  In the 2020-21 season, Newcomb won the Bupa Championship presented by Volvo and finished sixth in the season-long rankings.

Top performers from the Second Stage tournaments advance to the Final Stage Nov. 4-7 at The Landings Club in Savannah, Georgia.  All players who tee off in the Final Stage receive Conditional Status on the Korn Ferry Tour and compete to earn Full Status for the 2022 season based on their performance in the Final Stage tournament.

Mack and Mauchaza both advanced out of the Winter Garden, Florida, competition at Orange Country National Golf Center.  Mack finished in a tie for eighth with a four-round score of 11-under par and Mauchaza tied for 13th place at nine-under par.  Worthington qualified by tying for 18th place with a nine-under par score at The Bridges Golf Club in Gunter, Texas.
