The fourth season of Steph Curry’s UNDERRATED Golf Tour wrapped up at PGA West in Palm Springs, CA. The original Curry Cup champion and LPGA Tour debut maker, Ashley Shaw (-6, 67-71), earned her first UNDERRATED Golf win since the 2022 Curry Cup. Jayden Lizama, a Gonzaga commit from Elk Grove, CA, claimed the win for the boys (-7, 68-69) after an extra playoff hole with Daniil Sokolov. These wins secured Lizama and Shaw’s spots in the tour’s final championship event, the Curry Cup, held at Liberty National Golf Club in New York City this September.
For each U.S. Tour stop, 96 athletes participated in tournament-style events and team-building activities while also networking with college golf coaches and golf industry executives. The U.S. portion of the UNDERRATED Golf Season 4 Tour featured four regional stops at some of the most prestigious courses in the country. The tour offered many young golfers their first opportunity to compete on established professional courses.
Upcoming tour stops include:
- August 4–6 at Dye’s Valley and THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL
- September 10–12 for the Curry Cup at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, NJ
The season culminated with the Curry Cup, where the top boys and girls from the tour competed for the ultimate title at Liberty National. One of the most iconic golf venues in the world, Liberty National is located along the Hudson River and offers stunning views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the Manhattan skyline. The course has hosted major events including the 2017 Presidents Cup, multiple PGA TOUR FedExCup Playoffs, LPGA tournaments, and top-tier amateur and youth golf competitions.
“Each year, the UNDERRATED Golf Tour continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible for young golfers who may not have traditionally had access to the game,” said Stephen Curry. “With the continued support of KPMG, we are creating lasting opportunities that extend well beyond the golf course. We’re excited to bring the Curry Cup to the Liberty National Golf Club this fall. I’ve had the opportunity to play this special course and thank the Liberty National Foundation for its strong partnership. I can’t wait to see what this next generation of players will accomplish.”
Ashley Shaw, a rising golf talent from Litchfield Park, Arizona, began playing the game at age seven and entered her first tournaments by the time she was eight. Her dedication and natural ability quickly earned her recognition in the junior golf scene. She has collected numerous titles, including the Arizona Golf Association Women’s Match Play Champion and Player of the Year honors from both the Junior Golf Association of Arizona and First Tee of Phoenix. She is ranked first in her 2027 graduating class in Arizona and among the top junior players in the country.
In 2022, Ashley made history by winning the inaugural girls’ title at the UNDERRATED Golf Tour’s Curry Cup. Competing at TPC Harding Park, she posted consistent rounds and secured the win by two strokes, capturing attention for her poise and talent at just 13 years old.
She continued to make headlines by winning the John Shippen Cognizant Cup as the youngest champion ever and the only amateur in the field. That victory earned her a sponsor exemption into an LPGA Tour event, where she competed alongside professionals, with her mother serving as her caddie.
Ashley has since maintained a strong national presence, earning top finishes at elite junior tournaments and solidifying her reputation as one of golf’s brightest young stars.
