Exploring Liberty National Golf Club: A Review of Luxury and Legends

by Jerry Roebuck

I had the pleasure to recently play Liberty National Golf Club. Liberty National Golf Club is a private Country Club in Jersey City, New Jersey. Noted members are Robert Kraft, Eli Manning, Justin Timberlake, and Phil Mickelson along with the titans of Wall Street.

Liberty National Golf Club is easily accessible from NYC and all of New Jersey. The privately owned course by American businessman Paul Fireman who sold Reebok to Adidas was built at a cost of $250 million dollars.

The course has been the home of the Presidents Cup in 2017 and numerous PGA tour and LPGA tour events. The course was designed by Robert E. Cupp and Tom Kite. The greens are bentgrass, average total yardage: of 7,387 yards.

The golfing experience at Liberty National Golf Club was the best golfing experience I have ever had. The first-class white glove treatment started from the manned closed gated entry to the valet parking, locker room attendants and a courteous staff were unparalleled. I was even given a visiting guest locker with my name on it. Head professional Dan Schleichert was a most gracious host. Russel Harrison caddied for me and my photographer Judd Parsons. Russel caddied earlier in the week for music producer DJ Khaled.

From the first tee to the finishing 18th hole that leads to a stunning futuristic clubhouse, the views of the NYC skyline from the Empire State Building in midtown to Freedom Tower at the tip of Manhattan are stunning. Picturesque views of the Statue of Liberty and the Verrazano Bridge at times almost make you forget you’re on a golf course. However, the manicured fairways, smooth greens, and tree-lined practice range quickly remind you how privileged you are to be playing one of the best private golf courses in the world.

The 18 holes are challenging yet fair with six tee box options. There are lots of bunkers in play and a few creeks to avoid. The wind comes into play on several holes, especially on 18 off the water with views of the Statue of Liberty.

Liberty National Golf Club delivers a memorable experience. My once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play there will be a golfing memory I’ll never forget. So if your dreams come true of becoming a Wall Street baron or successful high net worth entrepreneur, entertainer or athlete consider joining Liberty National Golf Club. It will be an investment well spent.
