JULY 15, 2023 (MONTGOMERY, AL) – Bama State F Phi B Football Alumni Association, an organization representing the alums of Alabama Bama State University’s esteemed football program, and the African American Golfer’s Digest, a recognized leader in promoting diversity and inclusivity within the golfing community, are proud to announce a strategic partnership. This collaboration between two influential entities underscores a shared commitment to fostering inclusivity, promoting Black excellence, and making a meaningful impact.
The 2nd Annual F Phi B Labor Day Classic Golf Tournament, a fundraising event to support the Alabama State University football program, will be held Thursday, 31 August, at 8 am at the Robert Trent Jones at Capitol Hill course in Prattville, Alabama. The tournament is part of a weekend of events leading up to the Labor Day Classic football game between the Alabama State University Hornets and the Southern University Jaguars on Saturday, 2 September, at 5 pm at the Hornet Stadium.
“We are thrilled to join forces with Ms. Debert Cook and the African American Golfers Digest (AAGD) in supporting this annual event,” said President of F Phi B, Thomas Catchings. “I realized after a few minutes into our initial conversation that Ms. Cook, founder, and CEO of AAGD, is not just an inspiration to African American women but anyone that feels underrepresented. This strategic partnership will allow us to leverage our collective influence and resources to advance the tournament’s impact for years to come.”
