Four-time NBA champion and two-time MVP, Steph Curry, created the UNDERRATED Golf Tour in 2019. The third season of the Tour made an exciting stop at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio, July 6-8, where African American Golfer’s Digest Teen Reporter Alexa Finney caught up with pro golfer Will Lowery.
Lowery, who no longer plays professionally, is a highly-sought after personality and a previous competitor of GolfChannel’s Big Break. Lowery is the Founder of the Will Lowery Foundation and Founder of @crosshandproductions. He serves as Creator and Co-host of NBC’s Beyond The Fairway, Creator and Executive Producer and Host of Home Course Advantage @golfpass and, is an Ambassador for Curry’s Underrated Golf Tour. Lowery was a student and mentee of the late golf legend Mr. James Black who passed away on June 22, 2023 after a long illness.
In this interview, Lowery shares comments and special memories of the man, Mr. Black, and he says, “…you’re going to make me cry….I think about him almost everyday.”
