The wild winter storm is taking a stronghold across Texas. The latest result impact includes the withdrawal of pro golfer Cameron Champ from the Genesis Invitational. Champ withdrew late on Wednesday as storms continued to pound much of the U.S.
Champ’s Houston-area home area sustained lots of storm damage, according to his manager. His home is without power or water as is much of the Texas area. Champ had never traveled to Los Angeles for this week’s event, deciding to remain at his home to deal with the damage caused by the storm.
At the Genesis Invitational, 25-year-old Champ was scheduled to be alongside Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau for Rounds 1 and 2. He was replaced in the field by Andrew Putnam.
