Greetings All,
Local African American LPGA and Women PGA Professionals are coming together to protect the integrity of teaching and coaching from individuals who are set on poaching golf lessons from Certified dues-paying Golf Professionals…. We are not saying these individuals don’t have the right to do what they do. What we are saying is this: We as Black women Golf Professionals have a right to challenge the Golf Industry who requires Time, Test, and a LOT of MONEY to obtain credentials that allows us to legally train and teach golf.
We ask the question: Why is it necessary to go through all of what we have to go through to get these Sacred Credentials when poaching in the industry is allowed for people who just play golf recreationally with no training or experience required and they are accepted?
Some have made statements: “Why should they spend the money or time to go into the LPGA, or PGA to get jobs in the industry to fulfill their dreams?” Some even brag they are working in the industry without the sacrifice, and many of us who have made the sacrifice and have credentials are still denied!
We are Fed up with practices that deny many of us jobs, or opportunities to earn money or make a legal living!!! No Matter what reasons are used.
We are going on record to put the perpetrators on notice… There will be repercussions and consequences for these renegade actions with #Real 💯 Legal Actions!!!
RESOLVE!!!
- Call a golf course to inquire if they have a woman of color teaching or in a leadership position on staff!
- Call a Certified Golf Professional for training or join the LPGA or PGA to learn to do what we professionals are paying for and trained to do!!!!
Not much to ask, but a great start!
Thank you.
