LEO Foundation Presents MMFGI Junior League City Championship Finale on April 24 at Gateway Golf Course

Montgomery, AL — April 17, 2025 — The Moving Montgomery Forward Golf Initiative (MMFGI), proudly presented by the LEO Foundation, is set to conclude its dynamic six-tournament season with the Junior League City Championship Finale on Wednesday, April 24th at 4:00 p.m. at Gateway Golf Course, 3800 Davenport Dr, Montgomery, AL 36105.

Throughout the season, young golfers from various Montgomery City schools have showcased their talents across esteemed local courses, including Gateway Golf Course, Lagoon Park, and Cottonwood Golf Course. The league has been instrumental in fostering youth development, sportsmanship, and community engagement through the game of golf.

“This championship is more than just the culmination of a season; it’s a celebration of growth, dedication, and the bright future of our youth,” said Quincy Leonard, Executive Director of the LEO Foundation and organizer of the league. “We’re honored to support these young athletes as they strive for excellence both on and off the course.”

The event is made possible through the generous support of our sponsors and partners, including the Montgomery County Commission, Ms. Carmen Ziegler (District 2), and MPS Athletics. Their unwavering commitment to youth sports and community development continues to make a lasting impact.

The LEO GOLF Academy mission is to challenge junior golfers to LEO (Learning at Every Opportunity) by promoting character development, life skills, and values through the game of golf and the Holy Spirit. We aim to hook our kids on golf as a life-long sport, teach them the rules of the game, train in the area of fitness, develop mental toughness and on course training with a tactical and strategic approach.
