The inaugural 2021 Langston’s Axe golf tournament on June 10, 2021 from 12-6PM at Langston Golf Course in Washington D.C. The goal is to set the tone for future Langston’s Axe success by introducing a day of competition, fun and support of Washington D.C. municipal golf.
This year’s Langston’s Axe will feature friendly competition by offering a four-man team shamble format. In addition, please join in for an in-person event preceding the golf (more details to come).
The Langston’s Axe will feature a catered reception to conclude the celebration, along with a short speaker series from our co-founders on National Links Trust updates in regard to course plans and progress.
The golf tournament will be an 18-hole, 4-person team “shamble” (each golfer tees off and the best shot is selected, but from that point, each golfer plays his or her own ball until it is holed out – the two best scores on the hole will be recorded for the team score). This structure presents a fun, challenging and time efficient format regardless of your individual or collective team handicap.
The foursome with the lowest score on a net basis will get its team name on an Axe trophy that will remain in Langston’s club house on display and receive bragging rights for the next year.
