Louis Cherubin’s journey is one of transformation, faith, and perseverance. Born in Trenton, New Jersey, and now residing in Ocala, Florida, he describes his home as “an amazing place to live—one of the fastest-growing metro areas in America. The people here are warm, giving, and community-minded.” Ocala has provided him with the perfect environment to grow both personally and professionally.

Cherubin was first introduced to golf casually by friends while living in Illinois, but the game didn’t take hold of him until his mid-40s. At that time, he was facing personal struggles and searching for purpose. He recalls, “I was going through one of the most difficult seasons of my life—mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. One day, almost on a whim, I picked up a golf club again. But looking back, I now realize it wasn’t random—it was a divine encounter.” Golf became more than just a sport for him—it became therapy, offering patience, peace, and healing.

His professional path took him from serving eight years in the U.S. Army to a 23-year career with the Social Security Administration. However, his true calling emerged through golf. With the mentorship of professionals like Jason Lenhart, Dion Mohammed, and Brian Linton, Cherubin pursued the PGA Professional Golf Management Program and became a PGA Class A Golf Professional. He now teaches at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate, helping others discover the game’s transformative power.

Despite facing challenges, such as entering the industry later in life and experiencing limited opportunities due to a lack of diversity in golf, Cherubin remained steadfast. “Starting later in life meant I had to work twice as hard to catch up—learning the game, studying the business, and building experience from the ground up,” he shares. He also faced personal hardships, including the loss of his mother, which deeply impacted him. Yet, through faith and the support of mentors, he persevered.

Looking ahead, Cherubin has ambitious goals for the next five years. He is pursuing PGA Master Professional status, aiming to launch a golf mentorship and leadership academy, and working on his first book, Unstoppable: A Blueprint for Successful Living. It’s an executive-inspirational guide rooted in faith, leadership, and purpose. It draws heavily from Psalm 1:1–3 and weaves in lessons from his life across military service, government work, and his golf journey.

Cherubin’s passion extends to increasing diversity and representation in golf, advocating for inclusive hiring, and creating opportunities for underrepresented communities. He believes that “every challenge is an opportunity for growth and purpose.”

His professional path took him from serving eight years in the U.S. Army to a 23-year career with the Social Security Administration. However, his true calling emerged through golf. With over 30 years in Christian ministry and more than a decade as a pastor, Cherubin’s journey has always been rooted in faith, service, and purpose.

With the mentorship of Golf Professionals like Jason Lenhart, PGA, Cherubin pursued the PGA Professional Golf Management Program and became a PGA Class A member and Golf Professional. His new mentors—Dion Muhammad, PGA, Patrick Dill, PGA, and Brian Linton, PGA—are now helping shape the next phase of his career. He is currently serving as an Assistant Golf Professional at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate, helping others discover the game’s transformative power.

Beyond golf, Cherubin is deeply committed to his family. He is married to Danielle, his partner in life and faith, and together they have five children. Being a father, he says, is one of the greatest blessings of his life. His journey, marked by resilience and faith, is a testament to the power of transformation and the impact of perseverance. “Golf didn’t just change my life—it saved it,” he reflects. Now, he is dedicated to using the game to inspire others, ensuring that no one feels unseen or without purpose.
