DAY 1: THURSDAY JULY 27:
ARRIVAL and ACCRA CITY TOUR: Arrive Accra International Airport at 8:40 a.m. Transfer to
hotel, leave luggage at concierge. Depart for Accra city tour, visit W.E.B. DuBois Centre for Pan Africanism. Lunch at local restaurant. National Museum of History and Ethnography, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Mausoleum. Return to check-in hotel. Meet seamstresses/tailors to order custom-made outfit (optional); outfit will be ready at departure. (L)

DAY 2: FRIDAY JULY 28:
KUNTU VILLAGE – WELCOME CEREMONY AND CHIEF INSTALLATION
Breakfast. Check out of hotel. Depart for Kuntu Village. Traditional Ghanaian welcome ceremony, meet the chief, queen mother and villagers, and witness the installation of Dr. Pamela June aka Esi Mbaanyena as Nkosuhemaa of Kuntu, Swearing of Oath of Allegiance and Durbar of Chiefs. Leave Kuntu for Dinner and Check-in to hotel in Elmina. (B/D)

DAY 3: SATURDAY JULY 29:
DAY AT BEACH RESORT. OPTIONAL: KUNTU VILLAGE
Breakfast. Day of leisure at resort. OPTIONAL: Depart for Kuntu. Join the chief and villagers for traditional Ghanaian
memorial service, funeral and burial of the late Nkosohen, Nana Kwame Baffoe II aka Dr. Perry Kirklin, founder of Kuntu Village Nkosohen Committee – USA. Dinner at One Africa. Overnight Elmina (B/D)

DAY 4: SUNDAY JULY 30:
KAKUM NATIONAL PARK AND CAPE COAST CASTLE
Breakfast. Depart to Kakum National Park and brave the Canopy Walkway. Lunch at One Africa (own account). Continue to Cape Coast Castle and West African Historical Museum, Enter the “Door of No Return”, pay a solemn homage to
African ancestors. Overnight Elmina (B/D)

DAY 5: MONDAY JULY 31:
SLAVE RIVER AND KUMASI CITY TOUR
Breakfast. Check out hotel. Depart to Kumasi, the Ashanti region and enroute stop at Assin Manso, walk down to the “Slave River” and “Last Bath”. Continue to Kumasi for city tour, visit Manhyia Palace Museum, Prempeh II Jubilee Museum and National Cultural Center with opportunities for shopping and bartering skills. Overnight in Kumasi. (B/D)

DAY 6: TUESDAY AUGUST 1:
KUMASI TO ACCRA VISITING CRAFT VILLAGES
Breakfast. Check out hotel. Depart for Accra. Visit Ahwiaa, the woodcarver’s village; Ntonso, the traditional textile printing village for Adinkra cloth; Bonwire where the famous Kente cloth is handmade on looms. Visit with chief and villagers for a traditional Naming Ceremony. Visit Ejisu Besease Shrine, a UNESCO world heritage site exhibiting Ashanti Traditional Buildings and learn about early Ashanti culture. Continue to Accra. Check-in. Meet with seamstresses/tailors to pick up ordered clothing. Overnight Accra (B/L/D)

DAY 7: WEDNESDAY AUGUST 2:
NKYINKYIM MUSEUM
Breakfast. Depart to Nkyinkyim Museum, an evolving Sculpture Museum. Nkyinkyim translated in English to mean
“twisted” and relates to a proverb that says, “life’s journey is twisted.” Lunch at local restaurant. Stop at the Arts and
Crafts market, a collection of Ghanaian handicraft souvenirs. Opportunity to try your bargaining skills and to “shop till you drop”. Overnight Accra. (B/L)

DAY 8: THURSDAY AUGUST 3:
MORNING AT LEISURE AND DEPARTURE
Breakfast. Morning at leisure for shopping, packing and personal activities. Late check-out at 6:00 p.m.

Transfer to airport for overnight flight to U. S. (B)
