Teeing Off With Journalist Glenn Jones and His Love Affair With Golf

Glenn Jones, a seasoned journalist and avid golfer, was born in Bermuda and currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts. His journey to Boston stems from a professional opportunity in 2021, marking his return to Massachusetts after having lived there for 15 years earlier in his career. At 47-years-old, Glenn is married to Camille Jones, his supportive partner of 13 years, with whom he shares a son. Camille’s encouragement, whether by inquiring optimistically about his games or supporting his passion for the sport, has been a cornerstone of Glenn’s golfing pursuits. “When I get home, she always optimistically asks if I won,” he shares with a laugh. “I almost never win.”

Professionally, Glenn anchors the news for NBC Boston, a role he has excelled in for over a decade. His educational background in broadcast journalism from Emerson College laid the foundation for his successful career in television. Golf has always been a part of Glenn’s life, with roots tracing back to his childhood in Bermuda. Julius Thaxter Arterberry Earns Prestigious PGA Class A Professional Designation

Monterey, CA — Julius Thaxter Arterberry has achieved the prestigious designation of PGA Class A Certified Professional, marking a major milestone in his journey as a golfer, mentor, and leader in the sport. Through his company, Arterberry Golf, Inc., Julius offers golf lessons at little to no cost, requiring only travel expenses. He is leading a collaborative initiative to place golf simulators in underserved Sacramento communities such as Meadowview, Del Paso Heights, and Oak Park. These simulators will host free clinics and mentorship programs, giving inner-city youth access to golf and its opportunities.

Julius is the proud father of 14-year-old Sebastian Arterberry, who plays basketball at Christian Brothers High School, Sacramento. He draws strength and inspiration from his family, including his father, Thaxter, and his brother, Sterling Arterberry, a graduate of the University of San Francisco School of Law and former collegiate basketball player. Julius’s Christian faith, nurtured through his membership at Calvary Christian Center Church, keeps him grounded in humility and gratitude.

APGA Tour’s Willie Mack III Receives Sponsor Exemption to the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open

SAN DIEGO (December 3, 2024) – Farmers Insurance Open tournament officials from the Century Club of San Diego and Farmers Insurance® announced today that standout professional golfer and 15-time APGA Tour winner Willie Mack III has received a sponsor exemption to compete in the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open, scheduled to take place Wednesday, January 22 – Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Torrey Pines Golf Course.

A native of Flint, Mich., Mack III previously received the exemption in 2021 and has continued to make great strides on the APGA Tour circuit and beyond. This year, he became one of the first APGA Tour players to compete in the U.S. Open, earning his spot by way of a three-man playoff at U.S. Open Final Qualifying in Jupiter, Florida. The exemption is part of Farmers Insurance’s continued commitment to the Advocates Professional Golf Association (APGA) Tour and its work to increase diversity in golf. It’s a testament to his determined spirit that he continued to succeed on the course.

Mack III made his PGA TOUR debut at the 2021 Farmers Insurance Open, and a month later, was named the recipient of the Charlie Sifford Memorial exemption from Tiger Woods to compete in The Genesis Invitational.

Northern Texas Native will oversee strategy, impact and fundraising for the 501(C)(3) Foundation

FRISCO, Texas (December 3, 2024) – The PGA of America today announced the hiring of Jenny Lewis as Executive Director of the PGA of America REACH Foundation.   Lewis, who was the Foundation Vice President for Kimberly-Clark Corporation in Irving, Texas, from 2008-23, will directly report to the PGA of America Chief Operating Officer Craig Kessler and work side-by-side with Chief Commercial and Philanthropy Officer Jeff Price.  

As Executive Director of the PGA of America REACH Foundation, Lewis is the top management leader of the Foundation, based at the Home of the PGA of America in Frisco, Texas. The role primarily involves overseeing strategic direction, programming, administration, fundraising strategy and financial performance of the Foundation.   The PGA of America REACH Foundation is the 501(c)(3) charitable foundation of the PGA of America. Its mission is to positively impact the lives of youth (PGA Jr. League Scholarships), military (PGA HOPE) and diverse populations (PGA WORKS) by enabling access to PGA of America Golf Professionals, PGA Sections and the game of golf.

She led the transformation of a singularly focused national foundation into a global entity that was strategically aligned with business, delivering more than 22 times the community impact the foundation experienced prior to Lewis.   She led the efforts to seed Kimberly-Clark as co-founder of the Toilet Board Coalition in 2015, an entity launched to tackle the global sanitation crisis.

Over her eight-year involvement, she served as global chair, vice chair and as a steering committee member, enabling the coalition to accelerate business-led sanitation solutions to marginalized communities in over 24 countries.   Prior to her work with Kimberly-Clark Corporation, she was regional director of corporate relations for Boys & Girls Club of America, from 2006-08; and held several executive level sales positions at Ericsson Inc., from 1997-2006.    

Lewis co-founded the Dallas Corporate Citizenship Network in 2011, bringing together over 100 companies to further community engagement across the DFW area.  She is a dedicated volunteer, having worked closely with United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Mi Escuelita Preschool.   Lewis, who has a Bachelor Business Administration (BBA) from the University of North Texas and a Certification in Purpose and Profit: Creating Shared Value from Harvard University, has extensive experience in Foundation leadership and creating sustainable social impact programs.

(Southampton, Bermuda – November 19, 2024) – The 2024 Butterfield Bermuda PGA Tour Championship concluded with historic moments celebrating the shared legacy of Bermuda and the Caribbean in golf. The Honorable Kim Swan, JP MP was awarded the first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award by the Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA). His award presentation was followed by a milestone victory for the Caribbean, as Puerto Rico’s Rafael Campos became the first Caribbean Champion of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship PGA Tour, claiming the coveted Bermuda Triangle Trophy.

The Caribbean connection was further emphasised with the presence of CARICOM representatives, including Prime Minister Mitchell of Grenada, head of Caricom, who joined Bermuda’s Premier at the tournament. Representatives of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) were also on-island to witness the event, which underscores Bermuda’s strong ties to the region, particularly as the island advances its bid to upgrade its CARICOM membership from associate to full.

The award recognized Kim Swan for his lifelong contributions to the sport of golf, spanning his trailblazing playing career and his impactful work in politics and on industry boards, which have significantly shaped Bermuda’s golf legacy. Swan has been an advocate for making golf more accessible and promoting Bermuda as a premier golfing destination, using the sport as a platform to foster youth development and community engagement.

Reflecting on the honor, Kim Swan, JP, MP remarked:
