PGA Ghana Captain Readies For 3rd Annual Tournament at Achimota Golf Club

The Nation of Ghana’s premier Achimota Golf Club in Accra, Ghana, will be the venue for the 50 professional golfers from various golf clubs throughout the country will converge on March 12th for the third edition of the PGA Captain’s Prize Tournament. it will be the first time that the country’s premier golf club will be hosting this very particular championship which is staged to honor the Captain of the PGA for his contributions.

The current captain of the PGA Ghana, John “Wonders” Malwuli, indicated that preparations have begun to insure a successful 3-day golf competition which will end on March 14. Some amateur golfers will also play on the final day of the tournament. Being the first PGA competition of the year with support from a number of firms, including Tang Palace among others, Captain John expects a very successful tournament.

The Professional Golfers Association in Ghana, West Africa, was formed in 1975. It’s mission is to become one of the best Professional Golfers’ Association in the Sub-Sahara of Africa. The Achimota Golf Club is one of the Top 100 Courses in Africa. Achimota was founded in 1934 has approximately 300 members with the course now at 6,511 meters long with a par of 72 and standard scratch of 73. Achimota Golf Club (Gh No1 Premium Course) Is Situated In A Pleasant Wooded Countryside, Some Ten Kilometers North Of Accra On The Achimota Campus. Well-maintained fairways and greens, particularly for West Africa – welcoming and relaxed but with standards expected to be maintained. Good caddies always available and a nice new clubhouse.
