Clarence Rodgers and Jimmy Chandler founded this tournament for the National Negro Golf Association (NNGA). This past May during the rebranded PGA of America hosted event now known as the PGA Works Collegiate Championship, the event celebrated the founding of the tournament and recognized Mark Nance, one of the first graduates of the scholarship award and now a PGA professional.
