PNC Championship, Closing Remarks to consider

While Charlie Woods is the youngest player ever to compete in the PNC Championship, I will add that golf icon Gary Player is the oldest.  Charlie is 11-years-old and Player is 85.   No other sport except golf can claim that competitive distinction and age disparity.  Golf is truly a game for the ages, that’s why so many people gravitate—and get addicted—to it. People of all walks of life.

Charlie make the only Eagle of the day.

Golf offers a little bit of everything for the athletic and non-athletic alike.  Long game, short game, thinking game.  Golf is more chess than checkers.  Each shot plays an important part in the end game. The PNC Championship is a one-of-a-kind tournament that appears to be a player’s (and fan’s) favorite.  It’s family-friendly golf at it’s best and only a couple of par 5’s away from Disney.

SPOTTED: Tigers girlfriend Erica Herman with close friend Robert McNamara.

Lee Trevino is 81-years-old and has played in all 23 events.  The World Golf Hall of Famer (1981) has never missed this tournament.  And Trevino says this is his favorite tournament.

SPOTTED: Erin Woods with daughter Sam watching Tiger and Charley finish on 18.

Total prize money is $1,085.000 with $200,000 going to the winning team.  Not the richest purse by far, but probably the most fun event of the season.
All in all, congrats to this year’s winning team of Justin and Mike Thomas.  Their first, but certainly, perhaps not their last.

For Tiger and Charlie, the 2020 PNC Championship was their first father/son event as well; and you can bet the house that we haven’t seen the last of this dynamic duo.
