St. Louis Jazz Festival Tour

Day 1–2: Welcome to Senegal – Dakar Exploration

Arrive at Blaise Diagne International Airport and transfer to Hotel Lagon in Dakar.

Begin your journey with a visit to the African Renaissance Monument, a 49-meter-tall bronze statue and the tallest in Africa. Continue to The Artiste Village, one of Africa’s top artistic and shopping hubs, followed by time to explore Sea Plaza, a premier shopping and dining destination in Dakar.

The following day, enjoy an excursion to Ngor Island, known for its pristine beaches and fresh seafood. Later, explore the lively Almadies community, famous for its restaurants, boutiques, and vibrant nightlife.


Day 3: Goree Island Experience

Take a ferry to Gorée Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its powerful history in the Atlantic slave trade. Visit the House of Slaves Museum, the IFAN Historical Museum at Fort d’Estrées, and the Henriette Bathily Women’s Museum, which honors the vital role of women in West African society.


Day 4: Pink Lake Adventure

Journey to Lake Retba (Pink Lake), one of the world’s most remarkable natural wonders, known for its striking pink hue. Enjoy a thrilling quad bike ride across nearby sand dunes and relax by the lakeshore.

For guests joining the St. Louis Jazz Festival Tour, continue on to St. Louis after the Pink Lake visit and check into Hotel de La Poste.

Day 5: Touba – The Holy City

Travel to Touba, the spiritual center of the Mouride Brotherhood. Visit the magnificent Grand Mosque of Touba and learn about the history and influence of Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba, founder of the Mouride order, and Cheikh Ibrahima Fall, founder of the Baye Fall community.

In the evening, St. Louis guests attend the St. Louis Jazz Festival, celebrating Senegal’s musical heritage with world-class performances.

Day 6: St. Louis Jazz Festival

Immerse yourself in the rhythms of the St. Louis Jazz Festival, one of Africa’s most renowned music events. Explore the city’s colonial charm, historic architecture, and cultural vibrancy as jazz fills the air.

Day 7: Travel to Saly – The French Riviera of Senegal

Depart for Saly, a coastal resort town celebrated for its golden beaches, lively nightlife, and relaxed atmosphere. Unwind at your beachfront resort, explore seaside restaurants, and enjoy an evening of leisure along Senegal’s beautiful coast.

A former Portuguese trading post, Saly Portudal village is situated West along the coast the destination features the beautiful Saly golf course and a local craft market.

 

Day 8–9: Leisure and Departure

Spend your final days relaxing or exploring local markets for last-minute souvenirs. Visit the Ghana Cultural Art Center for handcrafted goods, textiles, and artwork.

Afterward, transfer to Blaise Diagne International Airport for your return flight home.
