Sisters Across America Triumphs in support to three women golfers—a first for the organization

by AAGD NEWSWIRE

Sisters Across America (SAA) announces their support of three women golfers—a first for the organization. In previous years, SAA has sponsored only two mentees. However, thanks to generous donations from SAA members and supporters, this year marks a tremendous triumph for the organization in helping to financially provide three ladies with the opportunity to compete at a higher level.

Each of the talented professional golfers were super excited to learn the news regarding their applications and expressed their heartfelt gratitude, according to an SAA newsletter.

Lakareber Abe of Angleton, Texas is a 2018 graduate of the Culverhouse College of Business at the University of Alabama. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.

She played on the University of Alabama Women’s Golf team and holds the school’s record for “low round” with a score of 63.

Lakareber’s father introduced her to golf at the age of nine and she loves how golf ”creates an incredible community of friends and peers.”

She joined the Epson Tour in 2018. In addition to playing on the Epson Tour, Lakareber will also compete in the Florida Natural Charity Classic in Winter Haven, Florida on February 27–March 5. (Image courtesy of University of Alabama Women’s Golf)

Anita Uwadia of Newcastle, United Kingdom earned her Bachelor’s degree in Management with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from the University of South Carolina in 2020. While there, she played on the Women’s Golf team and served on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.

Anita joined the Epson Tour in 2020 and has ranked in the top 10. In terms of playing she thinks, “it’s a life-changing experience getting your card.”
