The TGR Foundation offers students access to college access programming year-round, both in-person through the TGR Learning Lab and virtually. Established in 1996 by Tiger Woods and his father, Earl Woods, The TGR Foundation creates and supports community-based programs that improve the health, education, and welfare of all children in America. Interested individuals are encouraged to scroll to learn about upcoming events and to check back with the organization’s website regularly as more are added. Virtual events are listed beneath the in-person events at the TGR Learning Lab in Anaheim. Space is limited for all free workshops. Logistical information for the workshops will be provided upon completion of registration.
The event “College Acceptance and Next Steps” is scheduled for Wednesday, March 27, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. PT. It aims to help high school seniors understand key information and next steps as they receive college acceptance letters and financial aid packages. The session intends to support students as they consider their options and ensure they meet the requirements to continue their learning through higher education.
Another program: “Underrated: Higher Education Options Beyond Four-Year Degrees” will be held on Wednesday, April 17, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. PT. It is open to high school students interested in post-secondary options beyond a four-year college. This workshop will explore the benefits of certificate, vocational, and dual-enrollment programs. The session will also share insights on transfer opportunities for Cal State University and the University of California systems.
For those interested in public health careers, the workshop “Public Health Careers: Epidemiology” is scheduled for Tuesday, March 19, at 4:30 p.m. PT (7:30 p.m. ET). Students interested in public health careers are invited to join a virtual exploration session featuring TGR Foundation alumna Christine Nzokou. In addition to learning about her journey to epidemiology, students will also learn about related careers and steps to achieve success.
Each year, more than 2,000 students, family members, and educators participate in the college access programming offered by the TGR Foundation. This impact is possible because of the support of the community of champions. The foundation works together with donors, partners, and volunteers to provide students access to valuable experiences. ABOUT TGR FOUNDATION
The TGR Foundation was established in 1996 by Tiger Woods and his father, Earl Woods, to create and support community-based programs that improve the health, education, and welfare of all children in America. The charity began as a simple junior golf clinic where Woods introduced the basics of the game to inner-city kids.
