Asheville Municipal Golf Course – Asheville, North Carolina
126 Players (36 Pros, 90 Amt)
The 62nd Skyview Open was a journey for Noah Ratner. Two back of the lead after the first round, he shaved a stroke off that deficit at the end of thirty-six holes. In Thursday’s final round he roared to a 6-under to take the lead and his third tournament pro division title with a 19-under for the week.
“I’ve been playing this tournament since I was 13 – so 18 years now – so it’s pretty awesome getting to play my home course where I grew up,” said Ratner to wios.com. “This is the first golf course I ever played in my entire life. When I was playing professionally full time I wasn’t having as much fun. I feel like I’ve had more fun since I’ve become a club professional and have an actual job and doing this on the side, so it makes it more enjoyable.”
Ratner’s victory snapped a 4-tournament win streak for Greg Parker, a 9-time victor overall at Asheville Municipal Golf Course.
In the amateur division, Christ School rising senior Jamal Hutchison followed a first-round 4-under with a 3-under final round to take the title by two strokes over Austin Alexander.
