Woods is still recovering from the rollover car crash that left him badly injured on Tuesday in Los Angeles. Although the golf icon reportedly has no memory of the single-vehicle wreck, which left him with a shattered right leg, he knows the many implications of not being able to play again.

Doctors inserted a rod into Woods’ leg and placed screws in his foot and ankle, according to a statement posted on Twitter. And his career on the links may be in jeopardy, People reported.

“He doesn’t want his career to end like this,” a source close to the 45-year-old athlete said Wednesday to the New York Post. “So if there’s any way at all that he can continue playing golf, he will.”

Following the PNC Championship in December, Woods had back surgery to remove a disc fragment that was cutting into a nerve. A source of the New York Post confirmed the former World Number 1 golfer is “frustrated” by his latest setback to his once seemingly unstoppable career.

A determined and focused athlete, the source said that Woods wants to get back on the greens as soon as possible if he’s physically able.

“He expected 2021 to be the year of his comeback,” the source continued. “Obviously, that’s not going to happen now. And that’s disappointing to him.”
