NOTE FROM THE ECHOLS FAMILY:

“Dear Fellow Golfers,

With a saddened heart, I regret to inform you that my dad, Vernon Echols, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019. We are finalizing funeral arrangements to be held in New Jersey and will post details on our website (www.lovegolftech.org). There will also be a memorial service in Daytona Beach at a later date – details to come.

My dad fought the good fight and now he is at rest. He shared his love of golf and community with many and his legacy will live on!

The L.O.V.E. (Little Ole’ Vernon Echols) Golftech Tournament began in 1998 when tournament founder, Vernon L. Echols, wanted a way to give back to his community. With a long history of civic engagement and sports enthusiasm, Vernon decided that hosting a charity tournament at the LPGA International Golf Course in Daytona Beach would be a great opportunity. The first L.O.V.E. Golftech Invitational Tournament had 32 players.

November 2019, marked the 20th year of the profoundly successful annual tournament, which has grown to over 200 players. The major beneficiaries of the tournament are local youth community charities.
