28th Women’s Collegiate Championship Won by Chicago State University

Women In Golf Foundation held its 28th Women’s Collegiate Championship, Presented by Arcis Golf, and at Eagles Landing Golf Course in Stockbridge, GA, April 24-26. Coming out on top for the win was Chicago State University whose skilled ladies proudly showcased their trophy, the beautiful Renee Powell Cup.

“For almost three decades it has been our mission and passion to encourage Leadership and Excellence among young women in athletics as well as great competition,” said WIGF Founder Lajean Gould. “Congratulations to all the teams that participated. Thank you to all of our sponsors, supporters and volunteers for making it happen.“

Katie Robinson of Alabama State University took 1st place in the Division I medalist competition Championship winning the Women in Golf Foundation’s Jim Shannon Award.

Miracle Goolsby of Savannah State University took 1st place in the Division II medalist competition winning the Women in Golf Foundation’s Barbara Douglas Award.

The annual Women’s Collegiate Golf Championship is the Women In Golf Foundation’s major fundraising event. The event is where selected women’s college teams are invited to compete for a chance to win the Renee Powell Cup, honoring Renee Powell, a pioneer African American Female professional golfer.
