Monday Before The Show (MBTS) continues to grow as one of the most meaningful events in women’s golf, bringing together professionals, amateurs, and industry leaders to celebrate the contributions of Black women in the game while promoting inclusion, mentorship, and opportunity.

The gathering will honor as it’s 2027 LPGA Legend golf professional Gladys Lee. Lee is a strong advocate for growing the game among women and she has played an important role in developing opportunities for women and youth in the game. Lee is recognized for her commitment to instruction, mentorship, and expanding access to golf within underserved communities. The event will take place on Monday, January 25th (MLK Jr. Day) at The Legacy Club, 1700 Alaqua Lakes Blvd., Longwood FL, 32779.

Coach Lee’s work reflects the broader mission of MBTS, which emphasizes education, empowerment, and visibility for women in the sport.annual gathering is centered around a golf networking experience that highlights the legacy of African American women pioneers in the sport. MBTS serves not only as a tournament-style event but also as a platform for storytelling, recognition, and community building among golfers and advocates from across the country. According to the organization, MBTS was created to uplift women in golf while preserving the history and impact of those who helped pave the way in a traditionally male-dominated sport.

“Monday Before The Show” itself refers to the traditional lead-up day in professional golf tournaments, when players prepare for competition week. The MBTS organization has redefined that concept, turning “Monday” into a symbolic space for connection, learning, and celebration before the spotlight of competition begins.

Over the years, MBTS has evolved into an annual event that blends golf, networking, and recognition ceremonies. It attracts LPGA professionals, instructors, and enthusiasts who share a commitment to growing the game and honoring its trailblazers. The event typically includes a round of golf, receptions, and tributes to honorees who have made lasting contributions to the sport.

Through initiatives like MBTS, organizers continue to position golf as a vehicle for empowerment, ensuring that the stories of Black women in the game are not only preserved but actively celebrated and expanded for future generations.
