Head Golf Pro Chris Arceneaux celebrated the Grand Opening of the Generations Sports Bar and Grill and Golf Pro Shop on Friday, May 28th, 2021. The venue is located at Jay & Lionel Hebert Memorial Golf Course (also known as the Lafayette Municipal Golf Course) in Lafayette, Louisiana.
According to the Arceneaux, the expansion is giving others the opportunity to work hard. A driven and family-oriented individual, the Louisiana native was appointed Head Golf Pro at the course last October and brings over two decades of experience in the golf industry to the 18-hole course.
“When I signed my contract, i just rolled up my sleeves and started running, keeping the community clean, and creating opportunities for the next generation. It’s exciting to see our kids get started in the game,” said Arceneaux to KATC News.
Special VIP celebrity guest and 13-time PGA Champions Tour winner Jim Thorpe joined in the festivities that were arranged just in time for Memorial Weekend! Thorpe was also honored in being presented with the ‘Key to the City’ by Carlos Harvin on behalf of the Office of Mayor, President Josh Guillory, CEO of the City-Parish Government.
