On October 16, 2022, Ruth Cavin made her first hole-in-one at Spring Lake Golf Course in York, SC. She used her Taylormade M2 9 iron on the par 3 hole #9 playing 89 yards. She used a Calloway Super Soft Matte red golf ball and she was playing with Verbena McIlwaine.

A gifted historian and storyteller, he shares the rich legacy, remarkable achievements, and lasting contributions of Black golfers dating back to the late 1890s. Widely respected for his leadership and excellence as a tournament director, Love has been a longtime member of the Par Busters Golf Group in Charlotte, North Carolina. In recognition of his decades of dedication and service to golf administration, he was inducted into the National Black Golf Hall of Fame in 1997.
