Dallas resident Marcus Smith Jr. will be among the professional golfers competing in the inaugural Advocates Professional Golf Association (APGA) at Cedar Crest, scheduled for October 25–27, 2026, at Cedar Crest Golf Course in Dallas, Texas. The 36-hole tournament marks the 14th event on the 2026 APGA Tour schedule and concludes Year 6 of the APGA Farmers Insurance Fall Series.
Smith, a native of Rockford, Illinois, is competing in his second APGA Tour season. He earned All-Northeast Conference First Team honors as a senior at Howard University in 2025 and will have the opportunity to compete in his adopted hometown against a field featuring several accomplished APGA Tour players. The tournament champion will receive $10,000.
Other notable competitors include Ryan Ellerbrock, a two-time APGA Tour winner with experience on PGA TOUR Americas and PGA TOUR Canada; Joey Stills, winner of the 2025 APGA Cisco Invitational at Pebble Beach; and Andrew Walker, a two-time APGA Tour champion now in his sixth APGA season. Walker, a 2021 Michigan State graduate, made history in 2013 when, at age 14, he became the youngest African American to compete in the U.S. Amateur Championship. Houston native Jzeke Dukes, also in his second APGA Tour season, is among the players scheduled to compete.

Founded in 2010, the APGA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring an inclusive future through golf. The Farmers Insurance Fall Series features three venues new to the Tour in 2026, following events at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California, and El Dorado Park Golf Course in Long Beach, California.
A major community highlight will take place Sunday, October 25, when Cedar Crest hosts the free Adidas Junior Golf Experience for young people ages 7–17. Beginning at 2:30 p.m. Central Time, the event will provide golf instruction from select APGA professionals across eight practice zones, along with interactive games, activities, lunch and prize giveaways.
Tournament practice rounds begin Sunday at 7 a.m. Monday’s first round starts at 7:30 a.m., followed by the final round Tuesday, also beginning at 7:30 a.m.
The event is open to professional men’s golfers regardless of APGA Tour membership, offering an opportunity for players to compete while bringing professional golf and youth development to the Dallas community.
The APGA at Cedar Crest will be played at Cedar Crest Golf Course, 1800 Southerland Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75203.
