Tampa, Florida: Middleton High School, in partnership with Women of Color Golf (WOCG) and Girls on the Green Tee, will celebrate the end of the school year, with their Girls on the Green Tee (GOTGT) Mentoring Program with a donation to the school of over $14,000.00 in golf clubs, golf bags, Tory Burch golf attire and golf accessories, to help strength and support the girls golf team for the fall golf season. The donations are in partnership with Women of Color Golf, Aramco, PIF and Tory Burch Foundation.
“The new golfers are women, juniors, and minorities, who make up the largest numbers of new golfers around the world. It will take three components to keep them in the sport: Visibility, Affordability and Community,” said Women of Color Golf Founder Clemmie Perry. “The WOCG mentorship partnership with Middleton High School Girls golf team fosters community, mentorship experiences and professional growth to encourage more minorities, girls and women to learn the benefits of playing the game of golf.”
The celebration will take place on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Middleton High School with the girl’s golf team, students, parents, community leaders and Clemmie Perry, Founder and Executive Director, Women of Color Golf and Girls on the Green Tee, Principal Camilla Burton, School Board Member, Henry “Shake” Washington, Coach Sunny Royal-Boyd, WOCG Mentors: (Vasti Amaro, Mariah Fisher Pamala McCoy and Dr. Janice Jacob), along with other special invited guests.
