The PGA of America announces the hiring of Tomie Anderson as the new PGA Junior League Grants Coordinator Reach Team. In this role, Anderson will be responsible for the growth and activation of philanthropic partnerships that drive awareness, adoption, and overall success of the PGA Junior League program. His efforts will aim to exceed participation goals, ensure partner satisfaction, and enhance the program’s impact within communities nationwide.
Tomie has a strong professional background and holds a MS in Recreation, Event, and Sport Management from the University of North Texas while also serving as a Teaching Assistant during his attendance. His career journey commenced at Howard University, where he successfully managed 23 Division 1 sports teams and assumed the role of Director of Football Equipment at Wofford College before graduating.
Anderson will oversee all partner initiatives, including managing the PGA Jr. League scholarship program. He will seek out new opportunities to expand scholarship access, actively working to increase participation by connecting with PGA Members, sections, facilities, donors, and participants. As the primary point of contact for nationwide partnerships, Anderson will coordinate external and internal communications to maintain a cohesive approach to achieving PGA Junior League goals.
Key to Anderson’s role will be compiling and analyzing monthly reports on program performance. This data-driven approach will help maintain and elevate program standards and successes. He will also lead the development of partnership tools, playbooks, and policies, while ensuring adherence to compliance standards for donor requirements and scholarship timelines.
Beyond the Junior League, Anderson’s role will support broader PGA REACH initiatives such as PGA WORKS, PGA HOPE, and other flagship events. He will contribute to the organization’s inclusive culture by fostering a welcoming environment that values diversity and individual uniqueness.
With his commitment to upholding the PGA’s shared values, Anderson will manage partnership budgets, including grants from sponsors such as Dick’s Sporting Goods. The PGA of America is excited to welcome Anderson and looks forward to his contributions in advancing the PGA Junior League and the overall mission of PGA REACH.
