Thrilling Finishes at Running Deer’s Senior and Super Senior Championships

Running Deer Golf Club hosted its annual Senior (55 and over) and Super Senior Championship (65 and over) over 36 holes this past weekend in Pittsgrove, NJ, with ideal weather conditions welcoming the field both days. Defending Senior Champion Rob McConathey led the Senior Division after the first day with a solid 76, while Anthony Narducci remained in close contention with an 80. Brian DeWinne led the Senior Net Division with a net 78, closely followed by Doug Sauder’s net 79.

In the Super Senior Division, Ray Grier and Craig Pfeifer shared the lead at 75 after 18 holes, and in the Net Division, Joe Latzko and Tom Terp both posted net scores of 71 to share the lead.

On “Championship Sunday,” Rob McConathey successfully defended his Senior Gross Division title with a 36-hole total of 136, finishing ahead of Anthony Narducci’s 162. In the Senior Net Division, Brian DeWinne held off his friend Doug Sauder, finishing with a net total of 149 to Sauder’s 151.

Ray Grier captured the Super Senior Gross Division title with an even-par 72 for a total of 147, while Craig Pfeifer took runner-up honors with a 153. In the Super Senior Net Division, Joe Latzko earned top honors with a net score of 71-71 for a 142 total, outpacing Tom Terp’s 71-76 for a total of 147.
