A. Lim Kim Wins LPGA’s Season Opener

by John Perry

LPGA’s A. Lim Kim won the season opener today at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions played at the prestigious Lake Nona Country Club in superb fashion, birdying two of the last three holes.  With world’s number one Nelly Korda applying plenty of heat, which at one moment looking like it was going to be a foot race to the finish line.  But the 29-year-old South Korean was cool as a cucumber, never even blinked.

Kim maintained composure and confidence of a seasoned veteran —which she is not.  Best known for her 2020 U.S. Women’s Open Title at Champions Golf Club in Houston during the COVID 19 pandemic, Kim now has three LPGA titles. What Kim did do was served notice to the entire golfing public she plans on having staying power.  She strolled down Lake Nona’s fairways like a proud peacock showing off their vibrant colors.

Congratulations to A. Lim Kim for treating all of the spectators to some stellar golf, which she sealed the deal with a 20-foot putt, breaking downhill on number 18, to put the icing on the cake.

Kudos to you for a remarkable round.
