The Advocates Pro Golf Association (APGA) was established in 2010 with the mission to bring greater diversity to the game of golf. Focused on promoting access, inclusion, and career opportunities for Black and minority golfers, the APGA organizes professional tournaments, player development programs, and community-based initiatives across the United States. Its tour provides a platform for talented minority players to compete in high-level events while also supporting them with resources for growth both on and off the course.
The Juneteenth Pro-Am, where Washington received his award, serves as one of the APGA Foundation’s key events, raising funds to support youth golf programs and mentorship efforts.
