Annual Politics & Pros Charity Golf Event Raises Over $300,000 for First Tee-Greater Washington DC

On July 21, the annual First Tee-Greater Washington DC Politics & Pros charity golf event was held at Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, Virginia. The 24th annual event raised more than $300,000 to support First Tee-GWDC’s mission of providing golf and life skills programs that build character and teach life-enhancing values to young people through the game of golf.

Army Navy Country Club, located at 1700 Army Navy Drive in Arlington, welcomed a lineup of professional golfers, including major champions and Olympians. Participating pros included Jason Dufner, Brittany Lincicome, Billy Hurley III, Kelly Tan, Marcus Byrd, Greg Odom Jr., Todd Demsey, Lilly Russell, Matt Every, Evan Harmeling, and Scott Riley.

Members of Congress joined the event to support the cause, including Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC), Rep. Bill Huizenga (R-MI), Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC), Rep. Sanford Bishop (D-GA), and several others representing both sides of the aisle.

The 2025 Politics & Pros Honorary Host Committee features a bipartisan group of lawmakers such as Sen. Markwayne Mullin, Sen. Rand Paul, Sen. Thom Tillis, Rep. James Clyburn, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and Rep. Richard Hudson. The 2025 Politics & Pros Committee is led by co-chairs Lyndon Boozer and Baker Elmore, along with dedicated members from the business and civic community.

Southern Company served as the title sponsor, with Comcast NBCUniversal as the presenting sponsor.

First Tee-Greater Washington, DC, now celebrating 25 years, reaches more than 200,000 youth annually across schools, golf courses, and community partners.
