The HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong tournament is one of the premier stops on the 2026 LIV Golf League calendar, bringing many of the world’s top golfers to the historic Hong Kong Golf Club at Fanling. Played from March 5–8, 2026, the event featured a $20 million purse and showcased the unique LIV Golf format of 54 holes with both individual and team competitions.
The tournament began with a remarkable performance from Mexico’s Carlos Ortiz, who produced one of the lowest rounds in LIV Golf history. Ortiz fired a 10-under-par 60 in the opening round, giving him a two-shot lead and setting the tone for a highly competitive week. His round nearly threatened a historic 59 and demonstrated the aggressive scoring that the short Fanling course can reward.
As the tournament progressed, the leaderboard remained tightly packed. Major champion Jon Rahm surged into contention during the middle rounds, eventually moving into a three-way tie for the lead at 17-under-par heading into the final round. Rahm’s steady ball-striking and experience in high-pressure events kept him among the favorites as the tournament reached its climax.
Several other prominent LIV Golf players also featured strongly during the week, including Thomas Detry, Dean Burmester, and Harold Varner III, who all delivered impressive scoring performances to remain within striking distance. The event highlighted the depth of talent across the LIV Golf field, which includes former major champions and rising international stars.
