Golf. My Future. My Game. has emerged as a transformative force in youth development through golf, creating meaningful opportunities for young people in the Washington, D.C. area. Founded by Craig Kirby, the organization is rooted in a vision of access, education, and long-term success both on and off the course.
The inspiration for the program dates back to January 9, 2018, when Kirby attended an Evans Scholarship selection meeting at the Country Club of Detroit. Witnessing 26 high school caddies receive life-changing scholarships made a lasting impression. In that moment, Kirby recognized that the same opportunity could and should exist for youth in Washington, D.C. That realization became the foundation for what would grow into Golf. My Future. My Game.
Officially launched shortly thereafter, the organization focuses on introducing underserved youth to the game of golf while also exposing them to career pathways within the golf industry. The program emphasizes discipline, mentorship, and real-world skills, positioning golf as a vehicle for education and personal growth.
Founder & CEO
A major milestone came in 2021 with the launch of its Caddie Program at the historic Langston Golf Course. The course itself holds deep cultural and historical significance, having long served as a hub for African American golfers during times of segregation. Building the program at Langston reinforces the organization’s mission of honoring history while creating new opportunities for the next generation.
Under the leadership of Benjamin Foster and through partnerships with organizations such as Troon, the Western Golf Association, and the National Links Trust, the caddie program has trained more than 60 young participants. These partnerships have been instrumental in providing structure, mentorship, and access to nationally recognized opportunities.
One of the program’s most significant achievements has been its connection to the prestigious Evans Scholarship. Three participants from Golf. My Future. My Game. have earned this highly competitive award, which provides full housing and tuition support valued at more than $125,000.
Among the recipients are Butheyna Dahmani, a 2024 scholar now attending Rutgers University; Adriathan Crockwell, a 2026 scholar set to attend the University of Maryland; and Faris Smith, also a 2026 scholar who will attend Howard University. Each of these students has been involved with the program since 2019, demonstrating the long-term impact of consistent mentorship and opportunity.
Today, Golf. My Future. My Game. continues to expand its reach and influence, using golf as a gateway to higher education, career development, and life success.
