ABIS to Host Champions & Legends Career Fair in Baltimore on June 27
On June 27, 2025, the Advancement of Blacks in Sports (ABIS), in partnership with TeamWork Online, will host the highly anticipated “Champions & Legends Career Fair” at the Waterfront Marriott in Baltimore. The event, scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., aims to connect young professionals and students with career opportunities in the sports industry, featuring participation from some of the most prominent names in athletics.
For just $50, attendees can engage directly with recruiters and representatives from major sports organizations including the Baltimore Orioles, Washington Wizards, Washington Spirit, Washington Commanders, USA Lacrosse, NFL, WNBA’s Washington Mystics, Blue Crabs Baseball, and the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation. These industry leaders offer career pathways ranging from marketing and media to operations, coaching, and community engagement.
The event is part of ABIS’s ongoing commitment to fostering equitable access and advancement for Black professionals in all facets of sports. ABIS, founded by Gary Charles in 2020, is a nonprofit organization that works to dismantle systemic barriers in sports and education while uplifting Black excellence. Its mission is to advocate, educate, and empower Black athletes, coaches, and professionals to advance in their careers, both on and off the field.
Since its founding, ABIS has become a voice for equity and inclusion, offering mentoring programs, leadership training, scholarships, and career development opportunities. The Champions & Legends Career Fair is one of the many ways ABIS brings its mission to life—providing tangible access to hiring decision-makers and established brands in sports.
What makes this career fair unique is its dual focus on visibility and mentorship. It’s not just about job placement—it’s about helping Black professionals thrive in spaces where they’ve been historically underrepresented. With TeamWork Online’s robust recruitment tools and ABIS’s dedication to creating meaningful change, the event is expected to be a game-changer for attendees.
Whether you’re a recent graduate, an athlete considering your next move, or a professional seeking new opportunities in sports, the Champions & Legends Career Fair offers a unique chance to connect, network, and take your career to the next level. Tickets are now available at www.weareabis.org.
