(March 8, 2019) Get to know Ron Newsome, the Human Resources Manager for GolfNow, a division of Golf Channel which is the internet’s largest online tee time reservation service, trusted by more than 1.5 million golfers.
A graduate of Florida A&M University, Ron has led diversity initiatives for Golf Channel, Northrop Grumman, Charles Schwab and Bank of America to include launching Employee Resource Groups, managing diversity sourcing programs and Supplier Diversity. Golf Now uses leading-edge technology to provide more ways for golfers to stay connected to their favorite golf courses and tee times through the web, e-mail and mobile applications. GolfNow also provides technology, support and marketing services to more than 8,000 golf courses in 24 countries.
Ron is a member of the WE ARE GOLF (formerly Golf2020) Diversity Taskforce and a member of the Black Employee Network at NBCUniversal. He earned a Masters in Human Resources Management from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical (A&M) University. He is a keen professional and is certified with the Society For Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP).
