Charlene Williams on The Healing Power of Golf, “How It Literally Saved My Life”

Charlene Williams is President of C.T. Williams VETS Adaptive Golf & Beyond LLC and serves as Chief of Staff at James Beatty Golf Ventures. While in Bahrain in 2001, U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Charlene Williams experienced the onset of a detached retina, hearing loss, PTSD, and traumatic brain injury. She has tried a number of adaptive sports, but golf is the one that excites her the most. In addition to maintaining an active lifestyle, she is also working to complete her Ph.D.

A 26-year Naval career, commencing with duty in the Philippines and Aviation Electrician A1 School in Tennessee. She served in Miramar, California, Diego Garcia, and Atsugi, Japan. Returning to NAS Miramar, she earned a BA in Psychology from National University. Assignments at the Naval Brig and the USS NASSAU during 9/11 marked her journey, becoming the LHA-4’s first female Sailor of the Year. Charlene, a Drug and Alcohol Counselor on USS Carl Vinson and USS Enterprise. Passionate about travel, she embraces diverse cultures. Listen to her life’s journey on Apple Podcast HERE.
