MONTGOMERY, AL — September 15, 2026 — First Tee will bring its youth development programming to Montgomery with a special First Tee Experience Montgomery Free Youth Golf & Life Skills Clinic on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 2:30–4:30 p.m. at Gateway Park Golf Course.
The free community event is designed to introduce young people to golf while using the game to teach valuable life skills, including confidence, perseverance, respect, goal-setting, and healthy decision-making.
Youth participants will have the opportunity to learn basic golf skills in a fun and welcoming environment. Golf clubs and equipment will be provided, making the clinic accessible to young people who may be new to the game or do not currently have their own equipment.
The Montgomery experience represents an important step in expanding access to First Tee programming in the Montgomery community and introducing more young people and families to the positive impact of golf.

The event is presented by First Tee – Birmingham, with local support focused on bringing expanded youth golf and life-skills opportunities to Montgomery.
“Golf is much more than hitting a golf ball,” said Quincy Leonard, a Montgomery golf coach and youth golf advocate. “It is a vehicle for teaching young people confidence, discipline, perseverance, and how to handle challenges both on and off the course. We are excited to introduce more Montgomery families to the First Tee experience.”
