Supporters of the National Links Trust (NLT) gathered on Tuesday, June 7, to commemorate the start of the 2023 Jack Vardaman Workforce Development Program and the restoration of the Langston Community Classroom at Langston Golf Course. The ceremony featured notable speakers including Damian Cosby, PGA, Executive Director of NLT, Faris Smith, a caddie and intern in the Vardaman Program, and Adrian Stewart, a respected member of the Langston Community, educator, and small business operator.
During the event, Damian Cosby expressed gratitude to NBC Sports Next, the Home Depot Foundation, Southern Company, and the Carl M. Freeman Foundation for their generous support. Attendees also had the opportunity to meet and connect with participants of the Vardaman Program during a short reception, fostering community engagement.
