James Beatty, Executive Editor at the African American Golfer’s Digest, has been appointed to the Golf 20/20 Task Force.    Beatty was asked by World Golf Foundation President Steve Mona to join the effort. In his role, Beatty will be involved in the Communications and Supplier Diversity sub committees.

Beatty is an avid golfer and is based in Omaha, Nebraska.  Since May 2010, he continues to serve as an Editorial Advisory Board Member for the African American Golfer’s Digest, the nation’s leading print publication and online portal for Black American golfers.

The mission of the Diversity Task Force is to unite and activate the golf industry around key strategic initiatives that increase participation and retention of participants, inspire involvement and interest in the game, and promote sustainable best practices for golf facilities.  The effort is committed to increasing participation specifically as it relates to ethnic and gender diversity.

Beatty, “Jim” as he is know among friends, looks forward to being involved with the Diversity Task Force and sharing his knowledge and ideas with other members.

“Diversity is an important issue for the World Golf Foundation,” said Debert Cook, publisher of the African American Golfer’s Digest.  “I am confident that by having Jim on the Diversity Task Force, his participation will help to bring about positive change in growing the game among African Americans as well as other communities of color.”

If you have any suggestions or comments regarding diversity  or other related  issues in golf, please  feel free to email Jim at jbeatty138@aol.com.  He eagerly welcomes feedback from the AAGD viewers, readers and supporters.  To view the full list of participants on the World Golf Foundation Diversity Task Force visit World Golf Foundation Golf 20/20.

“He has extensive experience in the private sector as an economic development consultant and will bring a unique point of view to our group from both of those perspectives,” stated Steve Mona, CEO World Golf Foundation, in a warm welcoming email.

Since founding NCS International in 1984, Beatty has conducted over 300 economic development projects resulting in $3 Billion in investment and 30,000 jobs. He is a frequent speaker and contributing writer for economic development publications. Jim is also the author of “The Manual, Marketing for Quality Back Office Industry” published by the International Economic Development Council.
