The North Course was busy on Saturday, January 29th at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California with Advocate Pro Golf Association (APGA) players competing there, while the Farmers Insurance Open completed its third round on the South Course.

After carding two consecutive birdies over his final dozen holes, former Louisiana State University star Landon Lyons won the APGA Tour Farmers Insurance Open Invitational Saturday, earning himself $16,750 at the Torrey Pines 27-hole event at 5 under. The total purse was $60,000.

Finishing three shots back was reigning champion Tim O’Neal. Neal came in at 2 under to earn second place. Kevin Hall, the Advocate Pro Golf Tour’s 2016 Player of the Year and the first deaf golfer on the PGA Tour, started off with a good lead on Saturday, finished third at 1 under. Lyons pushed ahead of Hall after the opening 18 holes and carding birdies on 16 and 17.

The remainder of the leaderboard finished under par.

The Advocates Pro Golf Association is a non-profit organization aimed at helping Black golfers and other minorities in the sport compete on the highest levels of professional golf, both on the course and in the industry itself.
